Delta Air Lines Rebooking Policy: Missed Connections and Schedule Changes

Need to rebook your Delta Air Lines flight? Your options depend on why you need to change your flight. If Delta cancels your flight, makes a schedule change, or causes a long delay, you may be able to rebook on another available flight. If you choose to change your flight yourself, your options will depend on your ticket type, fare rules, and available flights.

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

Involuntary vs. Voluntary Rebooking

The rules — and your rights — are completely different depending on who initiated the change.

Involuntary Rebooking

This happens when Delta Air Lines changes your flight due to reasons you cannot control, such as a cancellation, long delay, or airline issue.

Voluntary Rebooking:

This happens when you decide to change your flight.

Delta Air Lines Missed Connection Rebooking

Missed connection rebooking is a common issue when a flight delay or cancellation affects your travel plans. If a Delta Air Lines delay or cancellation causes you to miss your connecting flight, Delta may help you find another available flight.

Passengers should check their flight status, review the available flight options, and confirm their new itinerary before accepting the rebooking. If you miss your connection due to personal reasons, such as arriving late at the airport, normal flight change rules may apply.
